Job Descriptions:
Customer Service
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take and accurately process customer orders, providing product recommendations when necessary.
Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate coffee-making equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewing devices.
Quality Control
- Ensure the consistent quality of beverages, paying attention to brewing time, temperature, and presentation.
- Monitor and restock coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies as needed.
Customer Engagement
- Engage with customers to enhance their experience, answer questions about menu items, and provide information about coffee varieties and brewing methods.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
Cash Handling
- Process customer payments accurately and efficiently using cash registers or point-of-sale systems.
- Handle cash and provide change to customers in a secure manner.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness in the coffee preparation and serving areas, including equipment, countertops, and utensils.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks and follow sanitation guidelines.
Upselling and Promotion
- Promote special deals, discounts, or new products to customers.
- Encourage upselling by recommending additional items or specialty beverages.
Adherence to Policies
- Follow company policies, procedures, and standards related to food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Job Requirements:
Education Level
- A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
- Additional coursework or certifications in hospitality, food service, or a related field may be beneficial.
Working Experience
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role is desirable but not always mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience in handling cash transactions and providing excellent customer service.
Skills and Abilities
- Focus on providing exceptional customer service to create a positive experience.
- Ability to engage with customers and handle inquiries or special requests.
- Proficiency in preparing a variety of coffee and tea beverages.
- Knowledge of different brewing methods and equipment.
